ach mint has its own mintmark, but they have not been consistent through
the years. Sometimes different sizes of mintmark were used.
Sometimes the punch wore out and was replaced with one of a different
style. Occasionally more than one style was used during a
production year or range of years. Because not all mintmark styles
were used in a given series, the styles have been cataloged based on the
series rather than the styles themselves.
